an ordinary life

21 April 2016

vandag is ‘n kaalvoet dag

isn’t it strange how quiet
he goes by
an ordinary life
no one knows why
just
something that’s over
it is nothing new
a man just gone
missed by few

isn’t it strange
we don’t know it seems
so many moons
the never-ending dreams
but when he goes
when it ends after all
it seems so little
it seems so small

for all those lives
those ordinary years
all that went unnoticed
all that needed tears
the heavens will open
and the clouds will bring
crowns for our heads
for us
the angels sing

for all those lives
of those ordinary years
for
all that went unnoticed
all that needed tears
the heavens will open
and the clouds will bring
crowns for our heads
for us
the angels sing
(nataniël)
